Keeping Warm in Winter and Looking forward to Spring!
Hi Junior Friends!
We loved seeing so many old and new faces at our General Membership Meeting in January! A fun group of ladies also dined at Virtue last week.
We have many wonderful events coming to you in the next few months.

Tickets are $45/person and may be purchased through Rich Rosenthal Brincefield Manitta Dzubin & Kroeger, LLP (the Presenting Sponsor!). The location is 201 N. Union Street Suite 230 and will take place from 6:00 - 7:30pm. What a great night to spend with friends! Please RSVP this week! Congrats to JF board member Suzanne Della Pella Carlough on the birth of her baby boy. "Jack"! John Kenneth Carlough was born at 12:52 pm on January 17. 7lbs 9oz and 20.75 inches long. We are so happy for you!

We are off to a great start!!
This year began with an energetic first general meeting...full of new and familiar faces. We could not be more excited for the year ahead!
There are so many amazing ways to get involved this year. If you were not able to sign up for a committee last night, or if you could not make the meeting, be on the look out for an email to sign up.
We hope to see many of you at the Tysons Shopping Event next Wednesday, September 25th.

Katelin Moomau and Kristin Kalanick Husak do an AMAZING job and contribute in countless ways to our events throughout the year.
There are two flyers that I have uploaded to the Junior Friends facebook page. The first flyer is a list of businesses that have donated to our events in the past year. Many of these businesses are places where we all are frequent shoppers. When you stop in, please let them know that you are a Junior Friend and tell them that their donation means so much to us. We want to continue to grow all of these relationships.
The second flyer is a list of ways that YOU can help EDC. Please consider joining this fantastic committee or simply pass along ideas, suggestions, or donations to Katelin and Kristin.

Bowties and Belles Information!!
The countdown has begun! In just a few short weeks, we will be celebrating Bowties and Belles and the Kentucky Derby. Bowties and Belles is shaping up to be a great event again this year. The Kate Moran Band will be providing music throughout the day and we have an exciting silent auction, Top Gun Flight Day Raffle, betting on your favorite horse and of course, the Derby's signature drink, the Mint Julep. Join us on Saturday, May 4th from 4:00 - 7:30 pm at Belle Haven Country Club for what we know will be a great day at the Races!

Our wonderful volunteers are critical to the success of our events! Spring is around the corner!
Do you have your tickets yet for the Toast to Fashion? This fabulous night of fashion and fun is an event not to be missed! Please be sure to like the TTF facebook page to see all of the vendors and to keep up with all of the updates for this fun event!
Toast to Fashion Tickets are $50 but go up to $60 the week of the event (starting 3/9) and at door. Tickets can be purchased online at:

Toast to Fashion Tickets on sale tomorrow night!!!
Tickets for the Toast to Fashion will be available tomorrow night at the General Membership meeting at a discounted price of $50! The price goes up the week of the event. If you buy your tickets tomorrow, you will also be entered in two raffles! Looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow night!

Junior Friends General Membership Meeting Next Tuesday
Please join us at our January General Membership Meeting.
The Social half hour begins at 7:00 pm and the business meeting begins at 7:30 pm. If you know of someone who is interested in becoming a new member, please contact Jeannine Hyde at jfnewmembers@gmail.com and she will send your or your friend information on Junior Friends and the orientation which will take place before the meeting at 6:30 pm.
We will have an exciting raffle prize for whomever completed two or more Day of Duty Shifts during the SCWW.

General Membership Meeting
Hi Ladies! Just a reminder that our next General Membership Meeting is this Monday, November 12th. New member orientation is at 6:30, followed by Social Half hour at 7:00 and the meeting at 7:30pm. Looking forward to seeing you all. A few reminders for the meeting:
1) TASTE OF SCOTLAND
We will feature a SPECIAL OFFER for Taste of Scotland General Admission tickets for $60 each -a $40 savings (1 per person). You MUST attend the meeting to purchase a ticket at this special price. This offer is available to Junior Friends women exclusively, who are current in membership dues. JFs in good standing already can purchase one discounted ticket for $75. So, at this meeting you are able to buy one ticket for $60 and one for $75. Invitation is attached.
2) TOY COLLECTION
At the meeting, the Programs Committee will be collecting gifts that will be used in TCC's Holiday store for needy families. They are looking for new gifts that are designed for children 3-5 year olds. Families love to pick dolls and doll houses, tea sets, dress-up sets, toy trucks, trains, construction tools—really any sturdy toys that can be used over and over again. They tend not to pick items such as drawing materials, play-doh, games or plush animals. Donations should be unwrapped.
3) HEATHER & GREENS
Heather & Greens pre-ordered forms may be submitted at the meeting. Check out the amazing moss covered letters they are selling this year. You can pre-order those as well. ($10 for the small size, $15 for the large size) The attached photo shows the large sized letter.
4) DUES
If you have not paid your dues, please do so as soon as possible to be a member in good standing.

5) DAY OF DUTY
Day of Duty sign ups went out tonight! Please be on the lookout for the Volunteer Spot link.
6) EDC REQUEST
If people would like to bring unused/ still packaged items to donate to please do so, and if anyone has tickets to sports events or gift certificates or other items they would like to donate (they don't have to have the current tickets in hand- say for next year football we'll have someone make a certificate).

The Campagna Center Fall Festival
TCC Fall Festival is just over a week away. So far, we have two grocery store gift cards to donate to the event for prizes. Our goal is to donate at least 6. If you are able to purchase a gift card by 10/24 your support will be greatly appreciated! You can drop off the gift card at Lauren Bishop's house (204 Jefferson Street Alexandria VA 22314), drop it in the mail to her or she can pick it up from you. THANK YOU!

Junior Friends Fall General Meeting Next Week
Junior Friends - it's hard to believe, but fall is upon us. The kids have gone back to school and our September membership meeting is next Tuesday, September 11th. We look forward to catching up on a fun summer and getting ready for the Scottish Christmas Walk Weekend, which is closer than we realize. Also if you have any friends interested in joining Junior Friends, the new member meeting is at 6:30.
